Boddingtons is a beer which can be found in many versions and is supported by a very strong advertising campaign. The two main beers are the basic bitter at about 3.8% and Gold which comes in at about 4.8%. Boddingtons is a very creamy beer to taste and has got a long refreshing flavour to it. It is the bitter which I feel comes closest to replicating the thirst quenching features of lager on a long, hot summer's day. The major marketing for Boddingtons is done by a cartoon cow called Graham the Heifer. Boddingtons’s Draught Bitter…mm…. what can I say? Well, it’s certainly not bitter, and yes, the flavour is bland. The fact that I find Boddingtons’s to be a bland, and somewhat tasteless beer, is probably a result of my like for strong, high alcohol content drinks. Don’t get me wrong…I’m not a binge drinker! However, many will like Boddingtons’s as it makes a good pint to sit down with a few mates and watch TV or just to have laughed at the pub with.
