Advantages: Unusual, Tastes fantastic
Disadvantages: Hard to find
I've only got one thing to say about this drink. Blow Job!!! Yes I know I shouldn't say that but it's all perfectly innocent really. I first discovered banana liqueur on holiday in Portugal when a rather nice bar lady gave me and my fella lots of free drinks. Hurrah for her (thanks Daniella) because otherwise I probably would never have tried it. We tried a cocktail called a Blow Job which is banana liqueur with Baileys poured on top (like cream on a posh coffee) and then whipped cream on top of that. You have to swirl it all around to loosen the cream and then down it in one. Fabulous!! Obviously the banana bols is very sweet but the combination with the Baileys and cream is a great equaliser. I wouldn't recommend too many in one go though. Could be very messy. I bought some banana bols to bring back from Portugal and always offer Blow Jobs at parties. Certainly gets peoples attention. Unfortunately I don't know that many places in the UK that sell this stuff but if you can find it buy some because it's fab. I've never actually drunk it by itself so I think I'll try some of the recipes recommended by bcatt. Enjoy!!

- 22/06/02 Liqueurs are very popular at the end of a meal in Argentina. 'Bols' or 'Peters' cost about £1.50 a bottle there and are terrific value. Cocktails are thus very cheap ....
'Blowjo bs' however are likely to be expensive .... |
