Amazing taste, swanky bottle (Bombay Saphire Gin)
Member Name: suzanneb84
Advantages: 10/10 taste Disadvantages: A bit expensive I genuinely love Bombay Sapphire - it is seen as one of the "premium" gins and i feel with good cause; it does cost £18 for a 1 litre bottle which is more expensive that Gordons etc however the quality is excellent - the taste is smooth... so smooth that I would be happy to mix it with a plainer mixer such as cranberry and not need the bubbles from tonic to take away the tart taste that cheaper gins can have! The gin pitches itself as having this taste because it is made from a 1761 recipe of "grain neutral spirit" whereby the spirit is distilled seperate from the botanical ingredients unlike other competitors. It also has a higher proof level than some other brends - at 47% it packs a punch and can get you drunk very easily if you are not careful! My other plus point on it is the bottle itself - the blue tinted glass looks elegant and when stored in the freezer it comes out all misted which is fantastic and always impresses! Summary: Buy as a treat to consume with others! |
