Will this give me a mega boost!?

Advantages: taste nice, only 55p
Disadvantages: short term boots only
Recently I have been in need of an extra dose of energy, what with sitting at a desk for 7 hours a day, being very time consuming and then going home to a 3year old I like to take all the help I can get lol. In the corner shop near my workplace they had a can of this Boost energy drink for 55p - which for me is a bargain! So I purchased it and have been sipping it at my desk!
It comes in a black can (mine was 250ml) and has this logo and label across, which simply says Boost Energy with a plain and dark effect to it. It is not extremely colourful but I don't need frills and thrills just an energy drink that works!
Taste wise, it is similar to red bull and of course has a rather high content for taurine and caffeine as stimulants to help me concentrate. It is a fizzy, carbonated drink which tastes much nicer chilled and is still refreshing. One thing I did notice is that Boost is a lot more sugary and sweeter tasting than Red Bull is, and almost felt like I was drinking a carbonated fruit drink with caffeine rather than an energy drink. Nevertheless, it does taste nice and is not awful and cheap like some of the other budget brands of energy drinks out there!
In terms of stimulating my mind, I think I drank this at about 3pm yesterday after lunch and began to feel a bit more rejuvenated and ready to focus on work again. However, by 4pm I was dozing again and losing interest and went for another wander off out the building and ended up in Burger King lol. I feel I have sincerely lost my mojo in terms of my attention/concentration span on work and had hoped this would help, and I must say it did but the effects were short lived, and my brain just switched off and went back to it's daydream like states lol.
Overall, I think for 55p this isn't bad. Taste wise it's ok and it does have some effect at being a stimulant and stretching my mental capacity capability it's just the effects are really short term. I have better luck with red bull and lucozade which of course are more expensive, so I definitely think that with this you pay for what you get, and the more expensive energy drinks are more effective.
Summary: a decent energy drink, but it's cheaper for a reason!
