I don't know about you, but I am not a fan of squash or fruit flavoured drinks. So on a warm summer's day, if I don't fancy water (or wine, or maybe a Pimms, or.....) what can I drink to quench my thirst? Not so long ago I was introduced to 'bottlegreen' elderflower cordial, and this for me, is the quintessential English summer drink. ~Who are 'bottle green'?~ Bottle green are a relatively new company that began in 1989. The factory is situated in a tiny village in the heart of the Cotswolds. Elderflower Cordial was the companies first product and they now produce a range of wonderful soft drinks, sorbets and lollies. "At ... Read the complete review

I got a bottle of this because I was getting bored of my usual Robinson's orange cordial and about a month ago I had quite a bad cold and had taken to having hot cordial at work and wanted something that actually tasted nice hot. I got it from Sainsburys, my usual supermarket is Morrisons and I've never seen it for sale there, so I don't think it is that easy to find. I can't remember the exact price but it was in the region of £3-4 which is a lot more expensive than most cordials but it comes in a glass bottle and looks good quality so I didn't let that stop me buying it. There are a few cordials but I thought I would choose the elderflower as it sounded ... Read the complete review

Bottle Green say that they "strive to capture the essence of the countryside" through their various flavoured soft drinks. They use wine-making skills to blend natural ingredients to produce wonderful tasting cordials and presses. I haven't tried any of their other products but I really like their Elderflower Cordial, it is a lovely refreshing drink perfect for a summers day but also very good to drink at any time. The cordial is made from handpicked elderflowers and also contains sugar, Cotswold spring water and citric acid with the addition of sulphur dioxide as a preservative. It has no artificial flavours, colours or sweeteners. The ... Read the complete review

Bottle Green Elderflower Cordial: For me nothing tastes like summer more than Elderflower Cordial. I can remember having my first glass at the 'North Somerset Show', (an agricultural show surprisingly enough in North Somerset), when I was about seven. It was the most delicious thing I had ever tasted! Years later I discovered Bottle Green Elderflower Cordial, (they also do a presse but it isn't as nice), and I occasionally treat myself to a bottle. The Bottle Green Cordial comes in a beautiful, conical, green glass bottle that holds 500ml. It is a really lovely bottle to look at with a beautiful picture of an elderflower on the front. Being ... Elderflowers have antiviral properties, they can lower temperature and reduce inflammation. Flowers contain rutin, a chemical compound which improves blood circulation and can lower the risk of heart disease. They are rich in tannin, too. Elderflower cordial has a delicious, genuine taste and is perfect on a hot summer days. The Bottle Green cordial comes in a stylish , green glass bottle. Bottle shape features an elongated tapered neck and contains 500ml. Bottle is fully recyclable. Green glass does better job then clear/ plastic packaging in keeping drinks fresh (light does not penetrate through). Store in a cool place away from direct sunlight. ... Read the complete review
