I've read irp13's opinion and all the commentaries, and saw a challenge to be met. This IS a subject I know something about having been born in Swansea, worked in pubs selling Brains beers for five years and worked in Cardiff across the road from the S.A. Brain brewery - oh yes, and I've been drinking the stuff for a while too! My first tasting of Brain's S.A. was during the power cuts of the three day week - it had to be, or the landlord would have noticed I was somewhat underage ;-) I fumbled my way through the darkness of the packed public bar in the Vivian Arms, Swansea and pointed at a pump so my high-pitched voice didn't give me away. ... As the title says I have great trouble in getting hold of this beer and have only found it in one pub I visit very occassionally - which I've now moved away from. Although I'm informed that its easily available in Cardiff. This one is my second favourite beer despite the rarity with which I drink it. Its a mediumly heavy beer and so smooth, with no chemically taste - this really is starting to sound like my HSB review, arghh. Its extradonarily easy to drink with me going through one inside ten minutes of arriving at the pub, without making any kind of effort (it usually takes me half an hour with a none too gassy lager).
