Advantages: Great taste, cheap

Disadvantages: Not as gassy as coke so useless for burping competitions

Every once in a generation, the world of soft drinks brings us a new chosen one. The 80's had Diet Pepsi, the 90's had Tab:Clear and the end of the noughties brings us Cherry 7-Up. Quite possibly the greatest soft drink of all time.

Priced at an absurdly 39p in my newsagent I had worringly never heard of it until I realised my usual favourite (Dandelion & Burdock) had sold out so I bought this by default.

It tastes of cherry but is not as overpowering as say, a supermarket equivalent and it isn't gassy at all so you don't feel bloated when you drink it.

It comes in a snazzy pink can which is probably why I didn't recognise it against the usual green 7-Up cans. Each can contains 6.3 calories which isn't going to make you fat ladies! The cans now come with a handy guidleine amount of the fats and sugars you need per day. Thankfully, the great taste of this drink doesn't impact on your health.

A great drink which I hope is here to stay!

Summary: 7 Up, but cherry flavoured.
