Advantages: Thirst quenching
Disadvantages: Not as nice as regular 7 UP
7 Up Free is a lemon and lime flavoured drink made by the Britvic company that I bought a few days ago because I am a bit of a tight wad and Tesco are currently doing a BOGOF offer on a mulitipack of 6 x 330ml cans for just £2. Bargain!!
The cans are silver in colour with good old Fido Dido pictured on there chilling out. This beverage is sugar free, preservative free, colourings free and caffeine free.
For a sugar free drink this certainly is very sweet. It is also very tangy and zesty but without giving you that burning sensation you sometimes get in your chest when you drink particularly citric, acidic drinks.
I found that a can of 7 Up Free is particularly nice with a sandwich at lunch time, it cleansed my palate very nicely after a rich and stodgy chunky chicken tikka sarnie with loads of butter (yum!!). Make sure you chill it though, I tried one straight off the (unrefridgerated) shelf and it made me gurn quite stupidly.
All in all this is a very pleasant beverage and you easily forget that it is sugar free. It is one to take with you for picnics as it handily cuts through your thirst on these long hot summer days. It's also ideal for those on a calorie controlled diet.
As long as this is on such a good deal at Tesco I would recommend it but I wouldn't pay full price for just the 6 cans.
It is also worth pointing out that some cans are offering £10 discounts per can on holidays with Thomas Cook by entering part of the barcode at www.7up.co.uk ********up to a maximum of £100 (10 cans)********
Each can contains 6.3 calories and no fat.
Summary: Buy this if it's on offer as it's not bad
