Advantages: Water is fine

Disadvantages: Bottle, cap

Drench water is widely available in many supermarkets and is the water sold at KFC restaurants. I have had drench water many times before now at KFC but that's because its the only water they do. It's not the taste that bothers me, its the stupid sports cap bottle, annoying paragraphs and clutter on the label and the price...

There are constant "win this, do this, get this, free that" stuff on the bottles with promotions and i just think its a bit much, then you have the stay healthy paragraph on the back, a snazzy slogan on the front (pretty much unique to drench) while having to read the terms and conditions of that competition on the back and it ends up like a book. I just want to enjoy my water not have so much clutter on the label.

Then theres the sports cap. Despite the contents only being about 250ml they felt the need to add a sports cap? There's a reason vittel only do it on their 1L bottles of water and that's because you would run out of 250ml bottle very quickly, especially the way I down it after sweating playing squash for 45 minutes, so i think it's kind of a showing off thing rather than something with a purpose.

The sports cap only lets a small trickle of water out at a time and is really restrictive. i normally unscrew the cap completely and drink that way but there's the problem: While it can be removed, it is an expensive feature that puts the price up.

The taste is alright actually, and is no different to say, buxton water, there are plenty of minerals and a good ph balance in this and there is no salty taste so thats a positive, at least it scores some points there.

The bottle can be recycled but you should check local recycling. I know the label can be recycled as i have recycled it many times before now. The sports cap does have a small piece of plastic that needs to be removed for access and this is like a little tag of sorts, and can get lost or easily dropped for wildlife to find, watch out for that.

Overall, its not great. It's trying too hard, its water and it has a slogan? It keeps giving lots of info about hydration and a sports cap despite the small size, which just pushes the cost up.

Summary: I prefer Vittel
