Advantages: Thirst-quenching, good value for money
Disadvantages: None
Robinsons Fruit Squash does exactly what it says on the tin (bottle!). It's a strong fruity drink, which the drinker dilutes with water to taste.
It comes in a 1 litre bottle, and a variety of flavours. The most popular being Orange, but there are also a number of 'orange mixtures' - orange and mango, orange and pineapple etc, and a blackcurrant variety. My favourite is the orange and mango variety, it has a nice sweet taste, and is very thirst-quenching.
The liquid in the bottle has quite a thick syrupy consistency, and is horribly sweet (who can hold their hands up and say they've never taken a little drink straight from the bottle, just to see what it tasted like?!) due to the fact it has to be diluted.
I like the idea of diluting the juice, as it gives you a greater freedom to select the strength of the squash - I like it quite strong, so put more juice than recommended on the bottle, but I can also make it fairly weak, with still a strong enough taste for the little ones to enjoy it and not think they're drinking water!
The bottle does give you recommendations for diluting I believe, but as I say, these can just be used as a guideline - go for your own tastes!
Robinsons isn't as expensive as many of the similar squash juices around, although it is a big brand name. I'd expect to pay around £1.00 for a 1 litre bottle, and when you think this is diluted to at least 2 or 3 litres, you are getting good value for money.
Overall, I think Robinsons is a great choice of juice drink, slightly better for you than the fizzy canned counterparts, and just as thirst-quenching. It's the only way I can feel I'm drinking enugh water each day, and actually enjoy drinking it, so I think it's great! If you're not a big water drinker, it is great for a change - try it, you don't realise just how much you'll drink!
Summary: Good variety, great for a change
