Advantages: Very cheap per drink (c.5p a serving), tastes good and encourages water drinking

Disadvantages: Artificial sweetners, burns if made to strong - eek!

I'm not really a huge fan of fruit squashes, as I find them too sweet and false tasting - a bit like drinking watered down sweets, no thank you! However coming into the warmer months, I often find myself wanting a cold drink with a bit more to it than water, and although I'd like to be the kind of person who always have fresh juice in the fridge, finances prevent this! My answer is lemon squash, as t tastes refreshingly just like flat lemonade and isn't too sweet or cloying. I usually drink Somerfield's own brand, but when I couldn't get some this time I plumped for the Robinson's drink, as I remember enjoying their squashes as a child.

First things first, the bottle is large and easy to grip to pour. Its see through so you can see the cloudy yellow concentrate, and read the nutritional values on the back. I have to say, I didn't really read the label before buying, and now wish I'd got the normal sugar version as I'm not a fan of artificial sweeteners, which this low sugar version has in it.
Despite that, the taste of the drink is very nice. You don't need very much at all to dilute it to a good flavour, and the taste is lovely and refreshing. It's a good true lemon - tart, but not sour as if you wear actually drinking lemon juice. The drink leaves a fresh aftertaste in your mouth with no sugary cloying feel at all. Don't make it too strong, though, or you'll get a horrible sensation in the back of your throat like burning!

Overall, I enjoy drinking this concentrate, and find that it last such a long time from one bottle. It encourages me to drink more water, although next time I'll pick the full sugar version or go back to my usual squash, as my personal preference is to try and avoid artificial sweeteners - better to have some natural sugar in moderation, I say!

Summary: Just what I need to keep my thirst quenched!
