Advantages: Delicious, Cheap, Thirst-Quenching, No Added Sugar, Great Flavour
Disadvantages: -
I recently bought a large bottle of this Robinsons squash as opposed to some of the other flavours as I remember liking it very much not too long ago. It's by far the sweetest squash in the range, as it seems naturally sweet from all the fruits within it. It's a very summery drink, hence the name and it's really refreshing too.
You can buy the squash in three different bottles:
1 litre - £.105
2 litres - £1.85
3 litres - £2.93
However, the 3 litre one is sometimes on offer at the price of the 2 litre one with 50% extra free - it was at Iceland when I last bought mine and it's currently on offer for just £2.00 at Tesco, which is a great price.
The bottles are transparent and have a round label on the front. The Robinsons logo curves round the top and the Summer Fruits flavour is at the bottom with 'No Added Sugar' bang in the middle. There are images on fruits such as cherries, apples, raspberries and strawberries on the front, which must make up the hard to describe flavour.
The drink is a mix of many fruits so it's hard to pick out one when you taste it. However, it's like having a delicious fruit juice full of flavours and fruits. As I take a sip, you immediately realise all the flavours before enjoying the sweetness of the drink as you swallow it. The sweetness comes naturally from the fruits as there is no added sugar. There are also no artificial colours, flavours or sweeteners. The juice is from concentrate and it's suitable for vegetarians.
It's lovely in the summer with some ice cubes or even crushed ice. I like to do 1 part squash to 4 parts water as this doesn't use up the squash too quickly and you still get an intense flavour. It also recommends this ratio on the bottle and warns to give extra water to toddlers. There are barely any nutiritions in the drink but for 100ml of the squash, there are 9kcal, 1.1g of sugars and 0.1g of sodium. The drink also contains some other things such as acidity regulators and preservatives.
Overall, it's a wonderful drink and I'd highly recommend it. It's ideal for the summer as it has a real summery flavour. The blend of fruits is delicious and the natural sweetness is overwhelming. It's a very thirst-quenching drink as it has the consistency of water and it goes very well with ice cold water along with ice cubes or crushed ice. It doesn't come at a bad price and helps to flavour water if you don't like it by itself.
Thanks for reading,

- 17/10/09 I think this review is misleading as you state the drink does not contain artificial sweeteners, which is not true (it contains aspartame & saccharin). |
