Advantages: Tastes really good
Disadvantages: Contains artificial sweeteners
While I'm at work I am almost always drinking some kind of beverage for some reason - perhap it's to break up the boredom or just to have something enjoyable to do. Whatever the reason, I always have at least one flavour of squash on my desk along with the usual teas, hot chocolate, etc.
Robinson's No Added Sugar Summer Fruits is a delicious squash that makes a change from the apple and blackcurrent and the lemon varieties that I usually get from the same company. It contains no artificial colours or flavours and no added sugar. It does contain artificial sweeteners (aspartame and saccharine). It is also suitable for vegetarians and does contain 10% real juice from concentrate.
Summer Fruits Squash contains apple, strawberry, raspberry and cherry juices. Although apples are not a summer fruit, as they are harvested in the autumn, I think apple juices is the least expensive type of juice for them to use so there is more apple in this drink than the other types of concentrate.
This squash comes in a clear plastic bottle that is decorated with the types of fruit found inside. You shake the bottle well before pouring inot a glass and dilute the squash with 1 part concentrate and 4 parts water (and you have to add more water if you are giving this to toddlers). The nice thing about this bottle is that the paper labels are easy to remove for recycling purposes. You just need to pour a little hot water over the bottle and the labels peel right off.
The taste of the squash is delicious. You can definitely taste the apples and the strawberries but I find the cherry and raspberry flavours to be much more subtle. The mouth feel of this drink is nice, somehow slightly thicker than other squashes but still very refreshing.
The price of this squash seems to vary from 99p to £1.19 a bottle. I think it's a great bargain for what is actually 5 litres of beverage once diluted.
Summary: If you're not bothered by aspartame and saccharine you'll be happy with this
