Brothers Strawberry Cider
Brothers is a relatively new company who make cider, they started out at Glastonbury festival where they started selling their Pear cider in 1995. The company is made up of four brother: Francis, Jonathan, Matthew & Daniel, and their family have been making the cider for 14 generations! As the cider proved so popular at the festival, they decided to market the cider in 2005, to pubs and supermarkets. From a small company selling cider in a field, to the huge country wide popularity of the cider, they have grown and grown, and now have 5 varieties of the cider: Festival Pear Cider- this is stronger than the other flavours at 7%, Lemon Mixed pear cider, strawberry mixed pear cider, pear cider and finally Toffee apple cider.
The cider I am reviewing today is the Strawberry variety, as in all honesty, this is the only one I have tried.
I first tried the cider when I was in Morrison's and in the "Bargain Bin" they had a small bottle for 75p, it was half the size of a normal bottle, so I thought I'd try it, as I'd never had it before and thought it might be nice, and for 75p, it was well worth it!
Taste/Flavour

I don't usually like sweet drinks, and don't even drink much pop, much preferring sparkling water to the sugary drinks my husband loves. And I am the same with cider, I usually like a very dry apple cider, not the disgusting "white cider" which you see teenagers drinking on the streets, and find most cider way too sweet for me.

Although this cider is very sweet, it's also very nice too! It's very tasty, and really does taste like strawberry. The cider is bright red, and when you open the bottle you get a strong smell of strawberries, upon taking a sip of the drink, it is very very sugary and sweet, but not in a nasty way. It tastes more like a strawberry wine, or an alco-pop type drink.

If you like sweet ciders you'll love this, and will enjoy every drop. I myself found that the small bottle I had was plenty, and when I bought a big bottle of it a couple of weeks later (after enjoying the small bottle), I found that it started to get very sickly towards the bottom of the bottle, so in future I would definitely only buy this to share or, buy the small bottles.

As with most things it is down to personal preference as to what people think of products, and with this I recommend it to people who like fruit ciders, and also people who like very sweet ciders.

Quality

The quality of the cider is excellent, and when you drink it you know you're drinking quality product and not some cheap watery mixture of rubbish and chemicals. The cider is made from squashed strawberries and pears, and not made with chemical flavours and rubbish, making it excellent quality!

Packaging Design

The bottles are very appealing and attractive, and really stand out from the other bottles on the shelf. You can buy the cider either in single 500ml bottles, or you can buy them in packs of 12 from specialist wholesalers. The bottle is a clear glass bottle, with a simple label on it, but it's the bright red colour of the drink which shines through the bottle which is most appealing! The colour is so bright and so red that it looks like the glass has been dyed red. And that is what makes it jump out to you on the shelf over all the other more "boring" ciders.

Value for Money

At around £2.00 for a 500ml bottle, the cider is very good value for money, seeing a s a small 275ml bottle of Bacardi Breezer tends to be around £1.60 (sometimes more!), it works out as very good value!
Brothers isn't sold everywhere as of yet, but here is a list of the shops where you can buy Brothers:
Asda, Tesco, Morrison's, Martin McColl, Threshers & South West. Prices may vary in all of these places.

In conclusion:
Strawberry Brothers cider is very tasty, but I think you have to be a big sweet fan to enjoy it properly, and the big bottle tends to be too much for one!!!

Summary: A nice little cider, but may not be to everyone's taste!

I haven't tasted this one. - only the pear one. Not that I am a cider drinker normally, but they look and sound so refreshing.
