Broughton Old Jock Ale ... room temperature 10-12°C. At 6.7% ABV Old Jock is a beer to be savoured. Full-bodied and warming with the characteristic estery, fruity flavour associated with strong beers. The balance to the sweetness of the alcohol is created by the use of an excellent hop bitterness.

I think I bought Old Jock Beer on a whim while shopping in my local supermarket.I may have been feeling a little patriotic at the time,being a Scot,( and proud of it ).Anyway,..I tried it at room temperature,and found it to be pleasantly palatable,( if a little sweet ).I think it probably is an aquired taste,..but it is certainly the best of the bottled beers in my humble opinion.I've tried it straight from the fridge,too,..but reckon it is best drunk after leaving it unopened and cold ...more

I've been drinking,...and recommending this superb beer to friends for the last 2 years or so.Other bottled beers I've tried,have been a let down.I've been a lager drinker for years,mainly 'cos it is a cooling thirst quencher,and being a person of habit,..well,..you just order it at the bar ,don't you?
