Advantages: Cheaper than top brands, yet tastes delicious
Disadvantages: When you've had one bottle, you want more !
Mmmm, the sweet bubbles tickling your tongue, smooth and delicious ideal for summer evenings and winter weekends. Of course i am talking about Champagne , the most beautiful drink known to man or woman ! This particular Champagne (for a supermarket version) is absolutely gorgeous, the best i've tasted ! The Blanc De Noirs is made from the Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grape , made in the Champagne region of France . As this could not be called Champagne if it was not from the region , Hence Asti Spumanti is disgusting, no offence to the Italians. The alcohol content is 12%volume but it always feels more when you have drunk a whole bottle !! This Champagne is ideal for drinking now , but sources tell me you can keep it for up to 5 years without it tasting horrible (Like you'd be able to keep it for 5 years !) Blanc De Noirs Champagne is made of black grapes ( Noir is Black in French ! ), which makes the Champagne a lot richer than using traditional white grapes. This Champagne is made by Fabien Henry for Tesco, which has a wide variety ofother Champagnes to choose from, should this not be to your taste. It tastes very similar ,in my opinion to Laurent Perrier, which is twice as expensive. So if you have expensive taste but not the cash, or want a decent bottle for a girls or guys, go for this . It's absolutely delicious ! Also on Valentine's day and other occasions Tesco normally do promotions on champagne, normally about £12 each, i got 20% off last time. (so i got two bottles !)

- 27/09/02 I never think of trying Supermarket own brand Champagnes, but this one sounds scrumptious - thanks for the tip! |
