Advantages: Strong

Disadvantages: Taste is a bit meh

Budweiser is an American beer that they frequently refer to as the King of Beers. Me, I'm not so convinced - it's not so much that I dislike it, but I'm just not drawn to it either by its taste or image. A friend of mine refers to it as "dish water", and whilst I wouldn't go that far, it neither has the kick nor tang to attract my attention that even more base beers such as Fosters and Carlsberg still retain.

That said, Bud wouldn't be popular without a reason - it's a middling beer that settles between the strength of Stella and other lesser ones such as Fosters and Carlsberg. It has ABV 5%, which is fairly strong, although it's frequently said the composition and brewing process is very different and America, something which I shall test out whenever I travel stateside. I would also be careful when ordering a bottle of Bud when out - you get a tiny, 275ml bottle and it'll run you back about £3! Maybe I've been spoiled with student prices, but this seems ridiculous to me. That said, in supermarkets like Tesco, you can buy cans (which are admittedly a bit smaller than normal 500ml cans) fairly cheap on deal.

I'm not too fond of it, but it is extremely popular nevertheless, which says a lot.

Summary: A very popular beer but I don't really see why
