Bulmers Original

I have to confess that I don't generally drink Cider. There's just something about it that is unpleasant to drink in my opinion, but when a mate of mine was having this, and said how nice it was, I thought 'why not give it a try', and I was pleasantly surprised. The bottles are pretty large in size, and definitely value for money. At just £1.58 for a 568ml bottle, I didn't feel like I was being ripped off. The bottle isn't anything fancy, why bother when it's only going to get thrown away? The label clearly highlights what the drinks is and the alcoholic percentage; 4.5%. I bought a few bottle sof this the other week as they didn't have any Magners in the shop - which is the cider of choice at the moment. I must admit I don't think there is much to beat a glass of cold cider on a warm spring/summer day. I must admit I had never thought of putting ice into the glass before I had seen it on the adverts but now that I have I really find that it brings out the flavour of the drink really well. I must say when I first started to drink the only things I drank in pubs and clubs was lager mainly Fosters or maybe Stella Artois or embarassingly the odd alcopop.The cider I used to drink then which was very rare was Strongbow or Woodpecker and it just didnt taste that great to me and still is not fantastic these days. I have always been a lager girl myself. I started drinking at the time when Stella Artois was the 'in' drink, and so never really got the deal with cider. Until I tasted Bulmers. Until summer last year, I had never even heard of the stuff. When I went out, I stuck strictly to a half of Stella or a cheeky vodka and coke. Cider has been given a tough time over the years, what with most youths being seen with a bottle of white lightning tucked under their arms. Some ciders can be really strong and very acidic too, so too much is sometimes a problem. However, with Bulmers cider, there is a lighter taste that is really refreshing. Since Magners came on the scene a few years ago, the market of cider was rebranded into a cool drink to have with ice on a nice summers afternoon.
