A very nice tasting cider and made with pears is quite rare to be honest, this works however! Bulmers have been making quality cider for over a century now and this doesnt let them down. It comes in a variety of packaging such as the 568ml Pint Bottle, 330ml long neck bottle and 500ml can. Once opened you get a nice fizz and you can start to drink it, either from the bottle or can or in a nice cool glass depending on your desire. Recently I bought several bottles of 568ml Pear Cider from my local somerfield for £1.84, although I notice at Tesco they are currently on special offer of £1.38. This compares to the price I pay down the Pub which is a massive ... Read the complete review

My daughter recommended this to me and I decided to give it a try. I bought one bottle for £1.80 in the local shop. It comes in a fairly dark coloured botte with green labelling that states the product brand - Bulmers in big lettering. TIt's only 4.5% so it's a good one to drink when you're out and don't want to get drunk. When I opened it and poured it into my glass, it looked like fizzy wine, not dark enough to be cider. It didn't smell at all like pear, I thought it was more like apple and checked the bottle incase I'd bought the wrong one, but no, sure enough it was pear cider. The first sip I quite liked. It doesn't taste at all like ... Read the complete review

==Background:== Cider has always been one of my favourite drinks. In my younger days I used to love either Strongbow or Woodpecker Ciders. These days there seems more choice with more extensive advertising campaigns to encourage us on warm summer days to enjoy a refreshing glass of cider with ice. ==About Bulmers cider:== The Rev Charles Bulmer established his first Cider factory and orchard in 1887 in Hereford. Production and demand continued to grow and by 1931 the company employed 431 people. By 1971 a factory had been set up in New South Wales, Australia and by 1994 Bulmers cider was being exported to 30 different countries. These ... Read the complete review

Until only a few years ago if you said your favourite drink was cider you would probably have been laughed at or frowned upon in some circles, as images of underage drinkers with 2 litre bottles of brands such as White Lightening crept into their minds. Since the cider revolution a few summers ago, cider has suddenly crept up in the "cool rankings" with brands such as Bulmers emerging. I'm not ashamed to admit it but I have always enjoyed cider. Sneer all you want but I was partial to the odd pint of Woodpecker or can of Strongbow (in my own home obviously not in public). Back in those days the greatest variation you got on your apple cider was it ... Read the complete review

Saw this at my local shop at £1.89 and was intrigued to say the least. I'd not seen pear cider before so decided to make the investment. The cider comes in a non descript dark bottle with basic labelling. This drink comes in at a reasonable 4.5% ABV. If it was any more than 5% I'm not sure I would have bought it so maybe this is deliberately kept at a reasonable level to keep it mainstream. When I opened the bottle I took a deep sniff and smelt..........sparkling wine?!?!?! There is a hint of apple cider about the smell too but I was beginning to wonder if this was really made from pears at all. The first few sips offered very little in ... Read the complete review
