Advantages: Summery, delicious, fruity flavour
Disadvantages: Sediment
Bundaberg Australian Peachee is a naturally brewed (but non-alcoholic) peach drink from, you've guessed it, Australia. However, while it is made in Australia, it's imported into the UK. It can be found in a brown beer-like glass bottle with an orange/peach colour label.
Bundaberg Australian Peachee does actually taste peachee and also smells like real peaches, so it's a pleasure to drink. It is made from peach fruit, which accounts for it not having an artificial flavour, and it has a slight fizz to it too, which I think helps give it a bit of a tang.
Due to it's fruity taste, I think it's quite a summery drink. It's nice straight out of the fridge and poured into a glass with some ice. It's certainly quite refreshing!
The drink does have some sediment in it, so the bottle will need to be tipped up-side down and back again before opening (though you may notice a little sediment in the bottom of your glass by the time you've finished). Don't worry too much about the drink fizzing over when the bottle is opened, there's isn't too much fizz in it... I've even given a bottle or two a good shaking and have managed to open it without spraying myself in it!
I buy my bottles of Bundaberg Australian Peachee in my local supermarket, Tuffins. I've not noticed it in other supermarkets and shops, but I'm sure it's out there! It's around £1.25 for a 340ml bottle, but as it tastes delightful I don't mind the price (but then I only buy a couple of bottles at a time).
Bundaberg also do a range of other drinks, such as Lemon Lime & Bitters, Ginger Beer and Root Beer. The only other Bundaberg drink I've bought and tasted is Bundaberg Lemon Lime & Bitters. I quite like Lemon & Lime, but I wasn't too keen on the "Bitters" in that one.
While these Bundaberg's drinks are non-alcoholic, you can turn them into alcoholic drinks using the recipes found on their website - http://www.bundaberg-brew.com.au/ - but for now I'm going to stick with my delicious non-alcholic Peachee drink!
Summary: A delicious tasting fruity drink.

- 26/05/09 I thought Bundaberg was a brand of ozzie rum, how bizarre, these sound nice though. |
