Advantages: Quenches thirst
Disadvantages: Chemical aftertaste, not much difference to tap water
Hmmm, another bottled water, I thought, as I picked this up off the shelf. Lucky it's on for cheap and I don't, therefore, begrudge the price. If only I had thought about filling up a bottle before we left, I wouldn't have this problem. Wouldn't have to buy a bottle of water. Still, never mind. It's less than £1, and it'll taste refreshing.
Okay, back in the car now. Oh, that's good. It feels comfortable in my hand - ergonomic? Is that the right word? The wife seems to think so. It's a bit skinnier than other bottled waters, means it fits in the drinks container bit in the car quite nicely. Easy enough to open as well - just a regular screw top lid. I'll just do that before we drive off......
I'm thirsty now. I'll just have a sip........Okay, it's refreshing. It tastes okay, but I'm wondering what exactly it is that means I've paid almost £1 for something I can essentially get from a tap! And, oh, hang on.....well, that's a shame, I didn't expect to get any kind of chemical aftertaste from this, and I'm sure I just did. Another swig, just to make sure..........yep, it's definitely there. Never mind, I'm sure it's just whatever's used to treat the 'natural spring water'!
It's getting a bit warmer on the journey now. The water's not so chilled as it was when I bought it, and I'm a bit reluctant to finish it - it tastes a bit....I don't know, a bit 'off' perhaps? Something not quite right about it once it's warm. I suppose the same is the case with a lot of things that have sat and got down to room temperature when they're best chilled. That chemical aftertaste is back again, a bit stronger now, too.
Although, musn't grumble, it was actually closer to 50p than £1, whereas a lot of bottled waters would be more expensive. Still, I wish I had filled up an old bottle at home - my tap water is just as good as this, and I don't usually get a chemical aftertaste - maybe the odd bit of chlorine as it's used as a disinfectant for Joe Bloggs to drink out of the tap, but other than that, it usually does the trick.
Back home now. I finished the bottle of Buxton in the car. Came in a bit thirsty, and headed straight for the tap. Lovely job. Pint of the local stuff from the tap! Lovely and chilled, and I didn't have to fork out for it.....well, until the water bill comes through, that is!
Summary: I'd sooner get the water from the tap
