Buxton Mineral Water

Over the years I have drank a lot of water. In fact I think I have probably drunk at least one glass of water each day since I have been born. Generally speaking when it comes to water I am not that fussy so long as it's cold and refreshing. Buxton mineral water is normally a bottle that I would pick up in a garage mainly because its one of the cheapest on the market.

What is Buxton?

Buxton is actually a spa town in Derbyshire, England and claims to be the highest market town in England. Buxton mineral water is owned by Nestle Water UK and the source is located around 1500 meters below the peak district. This means that it has been naturally filtered by the ancient limestone in the area.

Where to buy and what is the cost?

Living in Ireland Buxton water seems to be mainly available in Tesco. A 500ml currently cost 40 pence with a 1.5 litre bottle costing 49 pence. The main difference between the two is that the larger of the bottles is not sold cold. There is also a 1 litre bottle with a sports cap sold for 67 pence. The bottles of water contain a trace of sodium.

My opinion

Buxton claims to be one of the purest natural mineral drinks in the world. I choose it because its one of the cheapest and on the whole I am very pleased with the product. If served chilled it can be refreshing and can easily hold its own with other more expensive alternatives. I would agree with another review though and feel that there is little difference between this bottle and tap water. It warms up in room temperature very quickly almost quicker than other brands and once that happens you might as well be just drinking tap water. I have a Britta filter jug in my fridge at home and in my opinion the water out of it tastes far superior to the Buxton water. Overall though at 40 pence from a garage it represents great value for money and you'd be hard to find an equally as refreshing a drink for the same price.

Summary: Cheap and refreshing on the go
