Buxton Mineral Water
Advantages: Taste, price
Am not a great 'water' drinker but lately, since the weather has turned warmer, I have been buying the chilled small bottles of Buxton mineral water and I get these from the corner shop. I take one with me to work, especially if I am cycling, as I need the water to keep my great body hydrated.
The bottle size I buy is easy enough to carry in my backpack and it contains 500ml of water, though my dear other half does also buy the larger 75cl bottles and this is possibly more cost effective, though obviously not as easy to stick into my backpack whilst cycling to work. I was first attracted to these bottles as I had noticed on the front of the clear plastic bottles it boasts that it comes from:
"Deep in ancient limestone, in the heart of the Peak District" ... nice one.
The bottle has a blue twist off cap and the neck of the bottle is wide enough to allow me to get a good gulp of water as I am cycling along or if I stop to rest near the large trees underneath the railway bridge on my way to work. I tend not to stop here for too long though, if I can help it, as it has a reputation for having some dodgy characters lurking about getting up to no good. So, it's one swift slurp and I'm on my way.
I tend to pay around the £1 mark for my 500ml bottles of Buxton water, though sometimes I can manage to find it on offer in various places - you just have to shop around really. I do like the taste of this water. It is sharp, crisp and not too sodium laden, either, which I have found to be a bit of a problem with a lot of still (and fizzy) mineral waters. This water is without carbon, it is tasty and thirst quenching and is best drunk chilled, straight from the fridge. If I ever have any left over at the end of the day I won't drink it at room temperature though, and I am often forced to throw it over my head - this is also a great way to freshen oneself up after a particularly long bike ride in the sunshine.
Overall, I am really happy with this great tasting water. It is inexpensive, tastes grand and is really thirst quenching.
Summary: Good water I recommend
