Advantages: A smooth and very chocolatey drink from Cadbury

Disadvantages: A bit on the pricey side

Curl up on the sofa in your cosy pyjama`s, put on your favourite DVD or CD if the mood takes you and take time out to really enjoy a large mug of piping hot Cadbury`s Drinking chocolate.
If you prefer you can always choose to drink Cadbury`s Highlights, the low calorie option that is probably favoured by many.
Diet seems to be one of the words that nears the top of any conversation lately so I can understand why many people would pick up a tub of the low calorie drink instead of the rich Cadburys version.

Cadbury`s have made their hot chocolate tub look very regal, the rich dark blue and purple cardboard tub does have the well deserved Royal warrant stamped on the packaging.
The recyclable cardboard tub looks proud of itself and so it should be, Cadbury`s Drinking chocolate is pretty much in a league of its own.
If you think in terms of eating a bar of Cadbury`s milk chocolate then that taste has been replicated in this delicious chocolate drink.

If you are going to drink it and make an experience out of it then it needs to be made using all milk. The temptation is to either water the milk down or use just boiling water but it just ruins a good drink.
I prefer to get a mug, add a couple of well heaped teaspoonfuls of the drinking chocolate, mix it into a paste using a drop of warm milk and then as the milk starts to come to the boil add the remainder to the mug and stir it briskly to build up a small frothy head and then sit, relax and enjoy the smooth hot drink.
Cadburys Drinking chocolate is fairly sweet anyway so I rarely add any extra sugar.
If you want to make a it extra special then you can make it in a jug and use the hand blender to build up a good frothy head on the top, then pour it into the mug, add a spoonful of whipped cream and a couple of soft marshmallows to the top of the drink. I am sure the kids would love this one!

Cadbury`s Drinking chocolate is perfect for adding to a Victoria sponge mixture, you don`t get the same depth of colour that you get using cocoa but all of that rich chocolatey taste is there.

There are many own brands and other versions of Drinking chocolate, some are far cheaper too because the Cadbury`s version is a bit pricey. But if you usually enjoy it as a nightcap and you aren`t making it for the whole family then I think it is affordable.
I have used other drinking chocolates but none of them have had that Cadburys taste attached to them.

There is no doubt in my mind that cadbury rule the roost when it comes to producing a superior drinking chocolate.

Summary: A super hot drink for a cosy evening in
