Captian Morgan *********** Captain Morgans rum is named after Captain Morgan, funnily enough. Captain Morgan was a buccaneer who was born in Wales and spent his early years in swashbuckling sea adventures, and rising to fame through his daring pursuits as a privateer. As a representative of the English government, Captain Morgan was empowered to fight the Spaniards on his country's behalf and is still respected as one of Britain's most successful military strategists. He was promoted to the rank of admiral and in 1672, the adventures of Captain Morgan dwindled after peace was declared between England and Spain. The Admiral's raids continued though, and he ... Captain Morgan epitomizes what Rum is all about. From the famous old pirate comes some of the finest selection of rum. Captain Morgan may not be the fastest selling rum in the world but it certainly is the brand that provides you with the ultimate choice and these include: Original Spiced Silver Spiced Captain Morgan Parrot Bay Private Stock Black Label Personally I have had the pleasure of tasting the Original Spiced and the Black Label varities. From 1990 to 1998 (eight years) my drink of choice or the one that I used to consume on a regular basis was rum and my brand of choice was Captain Morgan Black Label. ... Read the complete review

I love Rum, I think it is one of the best things that ever came out of the Caribbean! I like it every way, (except straight) in coke, in a pina colada, with lime and ice, anything tastes good with Rum. I generally buy Bacardi Rum, as it is the most common one around, but have tasted some expensive aged Rums. However, the other day at a Airport they had a sale on Captain Morgan, and since I am rather partial to swashbuckling pirates, the bottle stood out to me. I got home and immediately got some coke in the freezer, and hoped to relax after a long trip, with a stiff drink. But instead of the familiar smooth taste of Rum, I got something quite ... Captain Morgan is my favourite 'tipple'. i have no idea baout its history and I dont really give a thought about history when sitting down in a bar and chooshing which beverge to have. Captain Morgan is within the catagory of Rum, dark rum. It is a slightly fruity, slightly bitter rum. Dont get dark rum confused with white, it has a completley differetn taste. Although it is very different to other dark rum like (Navy rum) as it is less bitter. It is less sweet than Sailor Jerry as it doesnt have a vanilla undertone. Captain morgan is better with a 'splash' aka coke, lime or soda, lemonade or within a cocktail. I would not recommend having this ... Read the complete review

Captain Morgan Black Label rum offers a unique depth of taste recalling the years of my father and grandfather drinking this whilst playing cards. This drink has a unique taste not suited to most drinkers but rum connoisseurs alike will like its strong taste. Its strong smooth and distinctive , drink neat at your own peril. Its full dark colour and smell reminds me of a rough oldness and fullness of character. The taste of this drink is unmissable and u can tell it's amongst one of the best dark rums on the market. £ 13.95 - £ 15.99 is a price that varies amongst most supermarkets and good offlicences. In summary a truely ... Read the complete review
