This is my first review on Dooyoo so I thought I'd dive in at the deep end and review a product responsible for many a good time. This drink is one of my favourite alcoholic beverages. Morgans Spiced Website tells us thatMorgans Spiced is actually distilled (in part) in Menstrie, Scotland. The rum is aged in charred oak casks and blended with other flavours such as cassia and vanilla. I prefer this brand over Captain Morgans (amber) any day. It is a little known fact that Diageo snapped up the previously independant company because it's sales were three times that of Diageo's own Bacardi rum in Scotland alone around 4 years ago. ... I don't actually drink that much anymore but on a recent night out, I was reminded of just how much I like Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum. Captain Morgan Sir Henry Morgan, better known as Captain Morgan was born in Wales in 1635 and was a successful buccaneer. In 1674 he was knighted by King Charles II and in 1690, he became the governor of Jamaica. In 1944 the Seagram Company began producing rum under the name of Captain Morgan Rum Company. Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum Spiced rum is very different to the usual white and dark rum. Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum This is a strong and deliciously flavoursome alcoholic spirit more commonly referred to as Morgan's Spiced. It is made from Caribbean Rum with added spices (cinnamon & cloves) and vanilla. The drink is a golden colour similar to whiskey only a bit paler. It tastes more like a sweet spicy liqueur than rum. I like rum but can only have a few. The drawback with this is that I can enjoy well more than a few. It has an interesting and distinctive taste that is very moreish.
