On a closer oral inspection the contents revealed a never-experienced cascade of toffee and tastes akin to a concentration of all the most succulent dark dried fruits of North Africa. I first tried Cardenal Mendoza Solera Gran Reserva on holiday six years ago in Tenerife of all places. In my brief experience of the island there is only one restaurant on that lump of volcanic detritis that could be described as... well, a restaurant.
