... little more than alcoholic dishwater. It's blandly flavoured, and relies heavily on being overly fizzy. It leaves an unpleasant aftertaste which can linger for hours. Essentially this is a product that you drink only to get drunk on. It's certainly not for any connoisseurs of beers or ales, and if they try it are certain to be disappointed. For people who choose to drink to excess this is nothing more than a means to an end. Something to hold and pour down your neck when in a crowded bar. Very little to recommend, ...more

Premium Review Carlsberg Lager: Great tasting Lager (491 words)
by - written on 17/03/08 (Very useful, 129 readings)

..Introduction.. I like to try many drinks and I have tried many lagers in my time, Carlsberg is one of the most popular brands of Lager and is one of my favourite lagers and as I saw four bottles of these for £1.99 at my local One Stop I decided to get some of them. Carlsberg comes in a can and bottle, the bottle is only 275mls and the cans are 440mls and 568mls (1 Pint). ..History.. Danish J.C. Jacobsen first introduced the world to Carlsberg in 1847 and over the years there have been many more drinks in the Carlsberg range that have been released in the past few years. These include the well known Carlsberg Export, Special Brew, ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review probably the best cats urine in the world (429 words)

this company has come out with the boldest and cocky advertising campaigns of all time "probably the best lager in the world" Pah!!, who comes up with this nonsense? Ok so you would not advertise a product, and try to make it look bad, but if you are going to make an outlandish claim like this one, then surely you need to have a product good enough to back it up. This, however is the one flaw in the plan for carlsberg. " Brewed since 1847, carlsberg has preserved its fine danish heritage by creating a superior, well balanced lager, with a distinctive and refreshing taste" Now thats all well ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Carlsberg Lager: Give me Stella anytime. (662 words)
by - written on 16/10/02 (Very useful, 189 readings)

As you can most probably tell I had to sample a few Carlsbergs before I could give my honest opinion. One of my favourite lagers is Stella Artois, but Sainsburys didn’t have it on promotion this week, so as you do (miser in my case) I looked for the next best thing. What did I find? Carlesberg. I can’t give you the price of it, because I have thrown my receipt away. Having said that it must of been cheaper than £16 for 24 cans or I wouldn’t have bought it. That only works out at 66p a can, good in my opinion. Until I tried it. The cans are 440ml. But, they are only 4 percent alcohol. (dang) Ok so I had ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Probably the best... compromise (224 words)
by - written on 30/10/09 (Very useful, 23 readings)

First of all, let me start this review by quickly telling you that Asda are doing a deal on crates of Carlsberg Export (date: 30/10/09) at the moment (same as Carlsberg but 5.0% instead of 3.8%) and it's £5 for 15x275ml bottles, Lovely! Carlsberg is the 4th largest brewing company in the world, with their main product being Carlsberg lager and they are often sponsoring sporting events. So, i'm sure you've heard Carlsberg's advertising slogan "Probably the best..." in the world, and whilst many would agree that Carlsberg lager is probably not the best lager in the world, like with everything its always a comprimise, I agree with many others ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Carlsberg Lager: Am I bananas to think i can taste a hint of bananas? (443 words)

Carlsberg I have been an on and off drinker of Carlsberg for the past ten years. It's most normally my larger of choice when out at a bar. However, Carlsberg has also increasingly become my carry out drink of choice. Mostly due the price but also it's easy to show up at a party or somewhere with a 12 pack and offer a few out to seem generous and still have enough left yourself. A bit about Carlsberg Carlsberg is a Danish brewing company that was founded in 1847. The company is reportedly named after the founder's son who was called Carl. The headquarters for the brewer are in Copenhagen in Denmark. On a recent visit to Denmark I was ...  Read the complete review
