As you can most probably tell I had to sample a few Carlsbergs before I could give my honest opinion.

One of my favourite lagers is Stella Artois, but Sainsburys didn’t have it on promotion this week, so as you do (miser in my case) I looked for the next best thing.
What did I find? Carlesberg.

I can’t give you the price of it, because I have thrown my receipt away. Having said that it must of been cheaper than £16 for 24 cans or I wouldn’t have bought it. That only works out at 66p a can, good in my opinion. Until I tried it.

The cans are 440ml. But, they are only 4 percent alcohol. (dang) Ok so I had a bargain, who am I to complain about the percentage. You get what you pay for.

Let me describe the can first, it is a nice colour green, a dark green with white writing on the front, and a nice gold and red crown to finish off the look. It does look quite stylish actually.

Damn who cares about the can, what’s inside is what matters.

We’ve all guessed by now that lager is inside of the can, an amberish coloured liquid.

Texture:---------

No it is not smooth going down your throat it is slightly harsh. No not harsh, not cutting just rough.

Taste:-------------

No taste, you don’t get that Zing, you can’t taste that hoppy/malty flavour.

How can I explain this now.

I’ll try.

If you press your tongue hard against the roof of your mouth and rub it up and down it is like a bitter taste. Very hard to explain. It does make your breath smell putrid. (I know because my hubbys had a few cans, and he has just been close to me and talked ) So I can imagine mine smells the same. Like kind of, when people have been drinking bitter. Ugh.

Never the less I will give you a few facts about Carlsberg.

It was 1847 J.C. Jacobsen made the first Danish lager. He sa
id it would be a beer for everyone. ( I would say it’s only a beer you buy when you can’t afford Stella artois)

Time does go on though, and Carlsberg now has 3 distinct products.
The one I am now talking about is
Carlsberg Export which is 5 percent (haven’t tried that one yet) so obviously I can’t comment.

Now for those of you who do like a good lager Carlsberg have a very good one, in fact I would say excellent. I have tried this in my Dad’s house, unfortunately I can’t afford it.
It is of course ,Carlsberg Special Brew, 9 percent volume and the taste of this lager is totally different from the one mentioned earlier. I would definitely recommend that one. But that is going into a different topic about beer so I will shut up.

Where was I Oh yes, if you have any queries or complaints about Carsberg, you should contact.

Carsberg Brewery

I’ll just give you a very quick run down now.

Ok if finances are a little bit short. (fairly cheap)
No taste.
You would be ashamed to offer one to your boss.
Lower percentage in alcohol.
Not as refreshing as other beers.
Bad taste in your mouth.

Ok I bought it being a miser, I’ll drink it. I won’t be buying it again though. I would rather spend a couple of quid extra and get a tasty drink.

Thanks for the read.

Bottled Carlsberg Export is infinitely better. Currently on offer at Iceland at 8 bottles for the price of 4.
