I have always been a coffee drinker but never to extreme levels like some, my fiancée could drink his way through ten cups of coffee a day where as for me it`s more like two maybe three tops. It was always Nescafe in our house until I one day bought Carte Noire, I bought it purely on impulse because the packaging makes it look very chic, dark and interesting and I have to say I am very glad I did buy it because there has been no looking back. This coffee is leaps and bounds ahead of any other in my opinion due to it`s deeper, richer, stronger and smoother taste. I usually find stronger coffee`s to be a bit bitter or to at least leave a bitter after ... Read the complete review

Carte Noire is an instant coffee that is produced in France but is very widely available in the UK. It is made from Arabica beans which are generally thought to produce better coffee than other types of coffee. I am a big coffee drinker, drinking several cups a day and Carte Noire has been my coffee of choice for many years and I've found that it tastes best when served black with a touch of sugar. ~Packaging~ This coffee is packaged in a streamlined black jar with what is Carte Noire's trademark gold strip around the centre. In my opinion, the simplicity yet quality of the packaging is a good and accurate representation of the coffee itself. It might ... Read the complete review

My favourite instant coffees are either 'Kenco Columbian' or 'Kenco Costa Rican', but I am always open to trying out new blends to titillate my taste buds. I recently purchased a jar of Carte Noire instant coffee when I dropped into a small supermarket after a hard shift in my taxi, as they were all out of my favourite Kenco blends, and because I vaguely recalled reading some highly complimentary reviews of Carte Noire both here at dooyoo and over at Ciao. Carte Noire is hard to miss. It comes in a very distinctive and decidedly classy black jar with gold lettering, and a small white label proudly pronouncing its name. This coffee seems to be very popular on ... Read the complete review

Carte Noire was always my favourite instant coffee. I started drinking it when I lived in France where it is very popular. In fact, I was introduced to it by a coffee snob who told me that in his opinion it's just as good as brewed coffee. I had to agree with him. I have now had to stop drinking coffee because my doctor told me to quit having caffeine, but I still buy Carte Noire for guests. Carte Noire comes in a sophisticated glass jar with a plastic lid. As soon as you see the container you get the impression that this is a top class product and also that it's quite an expensive one. To open it you unscrew the top, break the gold seal and remove a ... Read the complete review

I always know we've got visitors coming round when I spot a jar of Carte Noire in our cuboards. For some reason our usual Asda Fairtrade is simply not good enough for those blessed few. I don't know why I always associate black packaging with better tasting products but I suppose in this case I am correct. The lid is actually quite chunky I think this is so it stands out even more so from the other brands. Although you couldn't really mistake it. As soon as you get past the breakable seal you're already getting your usual strong coffee scent but most importantly is the taste. I don't think you really need to know how to make this as it is ...
