... It is a smooth coffee which is very drinkable at any time of day. It has a wonderful, rich aroma and a great taste without the bitterness from which some coffees can suffer. In the same way that Lavazza is the coffee that you see all over Italy, Carte Noire is one of the main coffees available as a general coffee (for a café or a creme*) throughout France. And, of course, the French know their coffee - so you know that you're getting a quality product that is consistent from packet to packet (something that o...more

Premium Review Carte Noire - la creme de la creme! (392 words)
by - written on 04/09/08 (Very useful, 90 readings)
Rating:

Not too long ago, we had hardly any choice of coffees. Now, it feels a little like we're over run with hundreds and hundreds of types. Carte Noire makes both an instant and a filter/cafetiere coffee. This (as you can tell from the picture!) is the real ground coffee for cafetieres and filter machines. It comes vacuum packaged but, unlike a lot of vacuum packed coffees, it opens without ripping - allowing you to seal it easily rather than having no choice but to put it in another container. Different coffees lend themselves to different occasions. Anybody that has taken a morning Lavazza espresso knows the kick that it can have. Carte ...  Read the complete review

I am a huge tea drinker. I'm sure I pee pure tea! However I do enjoy the odd coffee. I always have one a day made with milk as I have an eating disorder and kidney stones and I drink a lot of milk so I take it any form I can. Suffering migraines limits the coffees I can drink. I find some, I only have to smell and bang it brings on a migraine big time. So I always choose a caffeine free version and I believe we all should be drinking caffeine free products and sleep a bit more! lol I don't like cheap coffee and my taste buds tell me that Nescafe falls into this category. It's not strong enough no matter how much I put it. I want that 'Starbucks' feel to my ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Carte Noire: Decaf. Filter, don't knock it until you've tried it (355 words)

Decaffinated Filter coffee, i'd never heard of such a thing. I love my coffee, wheter it be filter, capuccino, cafetierre and even some instants. But I have to have decaffinated, for those of ou that have read my Red Bull horror story, you will know why. Carte Noire - sounds awfully posh doesn't it. They make both instant and ground coffees, decaffinted and not. The packet is quite striking and easy to recognise as the decaffinated version. It is black at the top and royal blue at the bottom, with the traditional Carte Noire gold band and writing. As with most packet coffees once opened it should be refrigerated or kept in a ...  Read the complete review
