Crowned Review Castles In The Sky (1295 words)
by - written on 09/03/02 (Very useful, 132 readings)
Rating:

As he reached for the towel, water still in his eyes, he reached for his bottle of Castle lager and the memories came flooding back. The events of the previous evening had taken their toll on the author. It had been a night painted on a duplicitous canvass by a painter with a sense of irony that would have challenged the most playful of muses. The house party the previous night hadn’t been the greatest ever and the incident in the Indian restaurant had left him mentally drained. Fortunately, he still had strength to make his flight to South Africa the following day. The plane stood on its apron like a steel behemoth awaiting its next call to ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Just another lager! (146 words)

Rating:

Whenever you talk to South Africans about beer they always seem to try and convince you how wonderful Castle lager is. Do not listen to them, it's just another lager with nothing special about it in anyway. Do not waste your money at the 'Offie', only if they're on a very ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Castle: Best Lager in the World. (167 words)
by - written on 20/03/01 (Somewhat useful, 317 readings)
Rating:

Castle lager is undoubtedly one of the best lagers in the world. One sip reveals that this is an outstanding drink. The flavour is so clean and innocent, none of that horrible gassy, sharp bite, but a gentle, fruity flavour that caresses your taste buds with ease. The pleasure from this lager cannot be underestimated. It is a genuine star lager amongst many imposters. Brewed in South Africa since 1886, it is a drink that completely refreshes the soul and gives complete satisfaction. At 5% it has a strength that other lagers lack, but still doesn't overpower you. It is as gentle as a nursing mother. If you can find a place where Castle is ...  Read the complete review
