Advantages: Refreshing

Disadvantages: Expensive

I drink lots and lots of different types of tea and always try new varieties when I see them available at my local supermarket. I stumbled upon this particular gem however when I was visiting an old friend. It had been a particularly hot day and she decided to have a cup of herbal tea as she thought that it would be a little bit more refreshing. I have tried several types of herbal teas over the years with varied results as I find that some of them smell gorgeous however end up tasting like disinfectant, however I spotted a little green pack in the cupboard which I had not come across before. The name of the product to give it its full title is Clipper pure green tea. I decided that I would give the item a try as I am rather partial to green tea. Apparently it was purchased at Asda for around £1 unfortunately my friend couldn't actually remember the true price. The pack contains 25 bags or 50g of pure green tea in unbleached bags.

The product packaging is quite distinctive it comes in a soft cardboard pack in two different shades of green. There is a picture of a white cup on the front. The clipper logo appears prominently and it states in white writing that this is the pure green tea from their vast product range. The packaging itself is biodegradable and can be fully recycled. The product is marketed as "natural, fair and delicious pure green tea".

I have to say I read the product information on the back of the packet and I was mightily impressed with the company philosophy. I like to buy ethically sourced products when I can. Clipper products apparently are made with pure ingredients. They use the highest quality sources and nothing artificial and strive to improve the welfare of their workers. For more information on the Clipper brand and other products available take a look at the website www.clipper-teas.com.

Making pure green tea is slightly different from your average cuppa. However I'm sure most of you know this and please forgive me as I am certainly not trying to insult anyones intelligence.
Use fresh water. Boil and allow to cool for a minute or two then pour over the teabag and allow to infuse for a good two to three minutes.

The teabags are slightly different too. They actually reminded me of parchment paper and were a lot larger than normal teabags. There was a kind of herbally odour which was noticeable immediately and became more prominent once the boiled water was poured over. The liquid is a clear green colour which leaves a slight residue at the bottom of the cup. The taste of green tea is actually quite hard to describe however it is refreshing and natural very light and contains a natural source of antioxidants so overall very good for you. I would highly recommend this product to all I would not necessary drink it everyday however it is ideal for a refreshing change.

The only ingredients contained within the teabag is pure green tea so rest assured it doesn't contain any nasties. A product that definitely lives up to its claims. Natural fair and delicious. The product also comes with a full money back guarantee if you are not completely satisfied with it. Worth a try and nice for a welcome change to your normal brew.
