I first purchased Cobra Zero eariler this year when I was lokng to get my weekly alcohol intake in to the "healthy" number of units that the government recommend. However, I still craved an ice cold beer or glass of wine in the evenings (especially in the summer) and so I tried Cobra Zero. This is a totally alcohol free beer that retails at about £2.50 for four bottles. It is a pale gold colour and nice and fizzy when you first open the bottle. It really does taste like normal beer, and is just as refreshing. I have only ever tasted Becks Blue as another alcohol free beer, but Cobra really feels more like a "beer experience" compared to ... Cobra Zero% Now here's a beer worth writing about. When I used to drink Cobra was one of my favourite beers to wash down a curry at my favourite indian restaurant. You can imagine my excitement when I learnt that they have released an Alcohol-Free Beer. Unlike other Alcohol-Free Beer Cobra really does have 0.0% alcohol so you could consume 100 bottles of this and feel and not get drunk, it's double filtered just like their normal beer to create an extra smooth taste and doesn't dissapoint. the coolness and crispness remains and at £1.99 for 4 bottles it's alot chaper too. For more years than I care to think about I have been trying to cut down my alcohol intake. Social problems can occur though and it's not just the conversational difficulties you run into when everyone else is on their second bottle of wine and you are stone cold sober. I find that if you decide not to order an alcoholic drink many comments are made, pregnancy being the main accusation! I was on a mission to find a drink that tasted like beer and looked like beer but had none of the bad/embarassing/painful (delete as appropriate) after affects of beer.
