Advantages: low calorie, fat and sugar content, delicious, attractive
Disadvantages: added substances, pricey, fizzy
No matter how many reviews I read, no matter how many people tried to tell me otherwise, I refused myself to believe that a soft drink manufactured by coca cola had no sugar or fat content, despite a much convincing name! I struggled even more to come to terms with the fact that it had less than 1 calorie! This just seemed so unlikely and, in my mind, quite impossible!
Though, I'll never be one to turn to arrogance; I was prepared to open my mind and consider that this may well be the case. Perhaps, in this day in age where anything can happen, they had come up with alternatives and there really was a fizzy drink out there with such minor nutrition values! There was only one thing to do to rest my mind; see for myself!
Before our weekly trip to Asda, I added Coca Cola Zero to the shopping list. As we headed up the drinks aisle, my head was rotating from left to right, my eyes scanning the shelves for the correct bottle. Eventually, near the end, I spotted it! I dived over and twisted it around, turning my attention to the nutrition label, which was fortunately clearly printed (there's nothing worse than having to fumble for ages with packages in shops). My eyes about popped out my head when I read the figures. I was baffled, to say the least! The rumours were true; this really was low in everything! The mounts of zeros were glorious, and straight into the trolley the bottle went, without a second thought!
===About The Drink===
>>Packaging
The Coca Cola bottle is made out of plastic (yes - recyclable!), with a tougher plastic black lid. The label of the bottle is black also, with just a splash of red colour on it. This looks amazing with the black liquid visible from inside. In my opinion, it gives the bottle a stylish, more modern appearance than other cola products!
Packaging is very important when it comes to the manufacture of products, as it is the first thing we as customers see when browsing the items! Luckily, the Coca Cola Zero has a fantastic image and stands out on the shelf, looking attractive amongst the other bottles.
>>Fizzing Up!
I can't normally drink fizzy juice; it makes me feel ill. I was a bit wary of trying this, in case I was left with the same sickening feeling inside me. Fortunately, it seemed to agree with me. This was odd, as I thought it was extra fizzy compared to normal cola! It sort of fizzed over the side of my glass as I poured it, but I managed to sip up most of the foam before too much mess was caused!
>>The Taste;
Because of the low values, I expected Zero to have a very flat and bland taste. Unlike many people I know, the taste of Cola is not something I crave or go mad for, but it's not as if I can't drink it. I would not say there is anything special about the Cola taste either! As I lifted my cup up to my lips and took a sip of the frothy Zero, I was amazed by its great taste! The entire sensation was a lot stronger than that of ordinary Cola, or Diet Cola! The taste was not entirely different though, it still had that powerful kick in it, the taste of a caffeine over-dose!
Something I never thought I would say; I am now addicted to the great taste of Coca Cola Zero! Unfortunately, I still can't drink large quantities, as the fizz still leaves me feeling incredibly ill.

It seems like this is going to create a big, empty space...it's called 'Zero' because of a lack of nutritional value! Nevertheless...

*The main ingredients include; carbonated water, colour (caramel E150d), phosphoric acid, sweeteners (aspartame, acesulfame K), flavourings (including caffeine), acidity regulator (E331). Contains a source of phenylalanine.

===Would I Recommend?===
Well, if you drink a lot of ordinary Cola but want to start watching the calorie intake, then I'd certainly suggest switching to this! Though, if you do not like to intake any of those extra sweeteners etc that can be found in this, then it's a no. If you do not already drink any fizzy drinks, then I will not suggest you start as a) it's addictive and b) even Zero is bad for you in its own way! Besides, the fizz ruins your teeth too if you drink too much, so I'd say will power is needed to keep your cravings for this sugary sweet drink at bay! Purely based on the taste though, I would definitely recommend Coca Cola Zero!

I don't regret buying Coca Cola Zero, not at all. And now I do believe people when they say it has no calories, sugar or fat content! I'm personally not fussed about the sweeteners etc included in it to develop the great fizzy sensation, so there are no problems there! I have quite a bit of will power too, so as long as I don't drink it on a daily basis, then I should be ok! I will most definitely be purchasing this delicious and sweet Cola option again!
