Advantages: It's sugar free
Disadvantages: Sweeteners don't make up for lack of taste
Branded as the male equivalent of Diet Coke, Coca Cola Zero tries to set a bold new path for beverages for the modern man. At least that's what they try to do.
We'll start of with the good things about this product: The labelling. I'm a big fan of how things are labelled and this is a great piece of marketing. It keeps the 'feel' of Coca Cola but the black and white label successfully portrays itself as a masculine looking drink. Also the scale back to monochrome shows the scaled back, sugar free version of Coke.
Now to the not so good stuff. I am really not a big fan of the stuff inside these bottles. The taste just isn't Coca Cola. They say it's the same great taste, except it's not... Not by a long shot! The traditional fizz is still there when you open that bottle but the taste isn't. It's a watered down version, or at least it feels like it. There's no actual taste to it and you don't feel like you're drinking anything like the Coca Cola brand. It did not leave me feeling satisfied in the slightest.
I will say this; I am a traditional Coca Cola drinker, I like the red cans and bottles because it's nice. The sugar, the taste, the satisfaction and if I don't get that, I won't go back to it. It's a good drink but they should forge it out as a separate entity to the Coca Cola range instead of (wrongly in my humble opinion) saying it's exactly the same as Coca Cola just without the sugar.
Summary: A disapointing beverage that did not fill the spot.
