Advantages: Tastes good, more refreshing, possibly healthier

Disadvantages: Drink to much and you could get cancer, yikes!

Coke Zero is a new version of the classic Coke but without sugar, essentially Diet Coke but rebranded!

You can immediately tell that you are buying Coke Zero because it comes in a black can that is very distinct and actually looks quite good, better than the dull silvery grey of the Diet Coke can. The Coca Cola logo is on show and underneath it you will find the word zero.

Zero stands for zero sugar and (almost!) zero calories. I don't normally go for these kind of drinks but I had been told that it actually tasted like the proper version of Coke so was willing to give it a shot.

When you pour it out into a glass it looks exactly like the regular coke, dark brown in colour with bubbles in it. I was hopeful that the taste would be the same too. It very nearly is providing the sweet unique taste of Coke but with a very slight aftertaste that lets it down, just a little though.

I was very pleased however that the drink has less of a heavy syrupy texture to it and is more thirst quenching than the original Coke.

Though it is zero calories and sugar this drink is loaded with sweetners which may be linked to causing cancer if consumed in excess, and probably aren't good for you anyway so I wouldn't go to crazy on this stuff!

It is a good substitute for Coke, replicating the flavour reasonably well and having a nicer lighter texture making it more thirst quenching too.

Summary: A good low sugar drink.
