Advantages: Sweet, Fizzy, Caffeine Boosting
Disadvantages: Individual Servings are a Bit Pricey
I had something to drink tonight that I've not had in ages - a bottle of lovely cold Coca Cola. I don't know why I've not had it for ages because it's one of the best soft drinks going so I'll have to make sure I don't leave it so long next time!
You can buy Coca Cola from most stores I know. You can get cans in multi-packs or 2lt bottles from the supermarket or you can buy 330ml cans or 500ml bottles from shops and garages etc too. There have been loads of different shapes and sizes to the various cans and bottles over the years but the above are the main ones you can buy.
If you've never had Coca Cola before (not that many people will answer yes to that!) then the taste is something that I think is quite hard to describe. It's cola flavoured obviously, but really sweet, sugary and slick too. It's got a syrupy texture to it but it's still thin enough to gulp down and be thirst quenching. It's really fizzy and being a good quality brand it doesn't go flat unless a bottle or can is left open for ages (like overnight).
The added bonus to picking Coca Cola over most other fizzy drinks is that it gives you a flavourless caffeine boost while you're at it. If you're feeling a bit tired or drained and you need a pick me up then what better drink to grab at a garage when you're about to drive home? You get both a sugar rush and a caffeine hit rolled into one.
If you like sweet fizz then obviously Coca Cola is going to be an ideal drink for you. But the drawback comes when you realise how it much it costs I'm afraid. I bought my 500ml bottle from a garage on the way home this afternoon for £1.45. You can get it cheaper than that in some shops but that's about the going rate for a garage I think for most premium brand fizzy drinks. In the supermarket you can get it much cheaper, a little over £2 for a 2lt bottle so that's obviously the best option.
I know you can get cheaper own brand version for 50p per 2lt bottle but I wouldn't compare the taste of say Sainsburys own cola to Coca Cola. I think it's worth the price you pay for it from the supermarket definitely even if the shop prices for individual servings are a bit steep.
I think four stars is a fair rating for this. It's got a great taste and really satisfies a craving but the price can be a bit high sometimes.
Summary: Always Coca Cola
