Coca Cola was originally invented in Columbus, Georgia in the USA. John Pemberton was the man who developed the recipe for his original "Pemberton's French Wine Coca". In 1886, when the prohibition laws were passed, Pemberton decided to create Coca-Cola, a non alcoholic version of his wine. Is was sold as a tonic or medicine originally & was claimed to cure ills such as morphine addcition, headache & even impotence. The orinal name was taken from the two ingredients. Cocaine from the Coca Leaf & caffeine from the Kola Nut.

Nowadays Coca-Cola is a world reknowned brand. It is one of the most recognisable brands anywhere. You can buy the drink almost anywhere in the world & it is itself one of the worlds most popular drinks.

Cocaine is obviously no longer an ingredient, but caffeine still is. Vegetable extracts are used to flavour the drink. It has it's own unique taste that is very difficult to compare to any other product. It has a dry taste which is slightly sweet (there's loads of sugar in it). Even though it is dry, there is no bitter taste & it is quite smooth.

I like Coca-Cola & prefer it to Pepsi which I think is less dry & more sweet. As a product I'd recommend everyone tries it, although most people on the planet probably already have.

Summary: A Soft Drink that has been around for a century & should be for the next.
