Advantages: stimulant, sociable, taste
Disadvantages: caffeine can be addictive
Coffee is a product which is made from coffee beans, of which there are several varieties, with the most common being the arabica bean. It has been consumed for a very long time, I believe since the 9th century.
Coffee can be consumed in many different forms. There is filter coffee, cafetiere coffee, instant coffee, espresso, cappucino...the list goes on. My personal favourite is espresso, although I have found it is quite difficult to find a good one.
Alternatively, if you prefer a cold beverage, there is iced coffee, which is great on a hot summers day! These products do tend to have higher calories however, so beware.
In today's society, coffee is an extremely valuable commodity. Coffee, contains caffeine which acts as a stimulant, and for many with busy lives, coffee is used as a method to keep on going throughout the day.
Coffee tends to be sold in shops and supermarkets, and the quality varies depending on the brand or the price. In this instance, price does play a factor in the taste of the product. I find the value coffee or cheaper versions do not quite have such a great taste and feel it is well worth paying the extra.
Coffee consumation has also become a sociable activity, whereby over the years, more and more coffee houses have appeared. I remember years ago, when if you wanted a coffee you would go to a local coffee shop, or perhaps a department store. Now however, there are numerous chains that are pretty much everywhere.
Coffee does however have some bad points, one of which is that it interferes with ones iron and can lead to the deficiency anemia. So do beware and watch your intake.
Summary: a great drink in moderation
