Advantages: Cool and refreshing

Disadvantages: Can be hard to find

When you are walking in the Lake District and you have just come down the mountain the first thing you want to do (after sitting down and taking your boots off) is have a nice pint of real ale. If your in Coniston your best bet is to stop off at the Black Bull. They make their own beer at the rear of the pub and this is where they make Bluebird Bitter. In 1998 the beer won Champion Beer of Britain.

The beer is nice and fruity and a very refreshing pint. One word of warning if you go into the Black Bull at peak time of the year and its been very warm weather then there could be a chance that they have run out.

You can buy bottles of Bluebird Bitter from some supermarkets but a word of warning its not made by the Black Bull as they don't have the space to bottle it. Because of this its not the same as you would get in the black Bull but it is still a nice pint. If you try the bottles and like it then you have to try the pint in the pub.

In general the beer is as good if not better than others you can find in good supermarkets.

Summary: Great British Beer
