Following on from my reviews of beers sampled during my birthday treat, I am today writing about Monkman’s Slaughter. If you haven’t read my reviews already, here’s a quick recap. We went to Cropton (near Pickering) in September and had a brewery tour and a meal in the next door brewery tap ~ The New Inn. A few beers were consumed too… ~~~THE BREWERY. Brewing has been going on in one shape or form at Cropton since 1613. The first brewery under the name of “Cropton Brewery” was set up in the cellar of the New Inn in 1984.
