Advantages: Same price, caffeine free

Disadvantages: None!

I wanted to quit caffeine as I found it made my heart race a bit too fast and wasn't helping me when I wanted to sleep! I'm not a coffee drinker, my only vice is diet coke. So when they launched the caffeine free version, I was thrilled.

I have tried the caffeine-free version of Asda's coke and it was disgusting, far too artificially sweet. Tesco's was palatable, but they soon discontinued it. I had every faith that the real Diet Coke version would be better.

Diet Coke Caffeine Free is the same price as the full-fat and normal diet version. It is easily identified because it has a gold coloured label (or can) so it stands out. It comes in the same sizes as the other cokes and apart from the label, looks no different. You can get an 8-pack of cans on offer at Supermarkets for £3, a 500ml bottle for just under £1, and a 2 litre bottle for about £1.80 or sometimes on offer at around £1 if you buy 2. Widely available in big supermarkets, not so much in corner shops.

So what does it taste like? Well to be honest I can't particularly tell the difference. It is a lot less sweet than say, Pepsi Max, but compared to regular Diet Coke, I can't really taste much difference at all. It is the same consistency, colour, taste. It is just as fizzy (although I like to make mine flat!) and pretty much the same - you can't tell the difference, you certainly don't notice the caffeine missing! At less than 1 calorie, you can't complain! It does have a slight sweet aftertaste, but I find that true of the normal diet coke as well (it's because of the sweetener they use to replace sugar)

All in all - my new regular coke!

Summary: My new coke!
