Diet Coke Citrus Zest

Description: Manufacturer: Coca-Cola / Soft Drinks

... calories or fat which is good. But I would rather drink a tasty and refreshing high fat drink than a horrible fat free one. As I said I like normal diet coke, so I do not think its the "dietness" that is the problem, its purely that whatever they use for the Citrus hint in the flavour is not very nice. It makes the whole drink taste weirdly bitter and the after taste is certainly not worth the bother. You'd end up drinking something else after to wash the taste out! Avoid...more

Premium Review Diet Coke Citrus Zest: Diet Coke - Citrus Zest (304 words)

I have always liked diet coke and often drink it, but it does get a little bit boring on a daily basis and when I spotted a bottle with a "Citrus Zest" I thought I would give it a go. It was a big mistake. Diet Coke is usually sweet but has a subtle caramel taste to it which I like. This version of my favourite soft drink over powers all the tastes that make diet Coke what it is, and instead you are left with an overly sweet taste that is slightly tangy but turns strangley bitter in the after taste once you've taken a sip. I actually struggled to finish the whole bottle due to the weird after taste which is definitely not great value for ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Diet Coke Citrus Zest - Surprisingly tasty (317 words)

Diet Coke Citrus Zest is a new variation of diet coke. Packaging: The 500 ml bottle has a very similar appearance to the regular diet coke. The only obvious differences are that a distinctive green bottle cap has been added, and that there are some subtle green/yellow graphics are on the label. Taste: My experiences of trying out new fizzy drinks have been variable, particularly where a fruit flavour has been added. However, the addition of the lemon and lime flavour gives a refreshing taste that is more palatable than standard diet coke. The drink actually tastes like a slice of lemon and lime is physically there. Storage: As with ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Diet Coke Citrus ZestLESS (382 words)

We recently acquired a 2 litre bottle of Diet Coke with Citrus Zest from a family member who had bought on offer in Asda. Apparently it is usually priced at £1.56 but in this offer you can get 3 bottles of pop for £3.50. Anyway, on seeing them about to throw this out because it was 'foul', I said 'waste not want not, give it to me!'. Now, I'm not a big fizzy drink person, in fact I try to avoid them. Occasionally though, particularly when eating out or something, I just fancy one. It's no doubt the caffeine and sugar in Coke, but it gives you that energy lift and I find can be very more-ish! Especially with ice on a warm day! Anyway, I ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Give your life the zest (451 words)

**Introduction** My regular drink of choice is Pepsi Max but I also like to try other drinks now and again and one such drink I tried a while ago was Diet Coke Citrus Zest. I had drunk the other fruit flavoured Diet Coke's before and quite liked the taste so I was confident I would like the taste of Diet Coke Citrus Zest too. When the drink was released in 2007 it was only a limited edition but they decided it was successful enough to be properly introduced. **Citrus Zest** As you can probably guess, Diet Coke Citrus Zest is given it's citrus flavour through Lemon & Lime. Looking at the bottle there is not much to distinguish it from ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Diet Coke Citrus Zest: Potentially disastrous, but actually tastes nice (401 words)
by - written on 16/06/09 (Very useful, 49 readings)

I was in a hurry yesterday, and picked this drink up by mistake. Not only was in Diet Coke, which I'm not particularly fond of, but it was with a 'citrus zest' and this didn't really appeal to me. So, my mistake, I'll just have to deal with it and drink it anyway! Now, I'm not a fan of the lemon flavoured coke that they brought out a few years ago, either, so I wasn't really looking forward to this at all. However, I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. Perhaps it was my dislike of Diet Coke and my (albeit theoretical) dislike of any citrus addition to the brand that cancelled each other out, but this was actually very refreshing and ...  Read the complete review
