mmm Pepsi, it might taste the same as Coke, but it actually tastes better...or is that my mind playing tricks on me?! I was first introduced to pepsi a few years ago on one of my trips to India, when it comes to fizzy drinks in India, I've always found that pepsi and fanta top the popularity list. On first taste I thought, 'hmm...this is basically coke with a different label slapped on the bottle.' During my university years, when I basically lived on fizzy drinks and kept switching between coke and pepsi, I started noticing there was a difference in their tastes. Pepsi feels a bit sweeter and it mre refreshing on the first sip than coke does.

While I'm not particularly health conscious when choosing drinks in terms of diet or non-diet, I mean let's face it either way they are still not good for you, I have noticed the taste of diet also seems sweeter than non-diet, which is surprising considering it's diet, you'd expect it to be the other way around. Anyhow that's the story of how I came to drinking diet pepsi...all the time.

So diet pepsi is a cola drink, if you have tasted any cola drinks it basically tastes the same, just sweeter and fizzier. What I love about diet pepsi is the fact that it feels refreshing and awakening...possibly due to the caffeine. It makes a good social drink, if you don't drink alcohol, I mean it won't get you drunk or tipsy, just slightly more energised. It is also a good substitute for coffee or whatever other drinks or tablets you may take to stay awake as you plan to pull an all-nighter for that essay due in a few hours time!

The downside is that much like most other caffeine products, it can make you feel a bit tired and sluggish after a while, and it definitely gets very addictive. I remember trying to not drink pepsi for a while, for the sake of my teeth and bones, but found after a few weeks all of sudden out of the blue I found myself in desperate need of just one sip of pepsi, which I didn't have at the time. I was so desperate it was almost painful, I went and indulged myself with some ice cream instead, but that did not make a good substitute. Needless to say, I went out the next day and bought some diet pepsi. Anyway addiction equals rotting teeth and bones which equals not good.

Diet pepsi is available in various sizes and cans, but I tend to buy the 500ml plastic bottles from poundland, where you can get two for a pound. Overall it is a great drink but like anything else try not to get hooked onto it, it may not be good for you in the long-term!

Summary: A great tasting drink that is bad for your health
