      a great fresh juice

In the morning I like to have a nice glass of orange juice to wake me up, I do not drink tea or coffee and although orange juice does not contain any caffeine I find the nice fresh taste is enough to give me the get up and go I need to face the day. Now I do generally buy orange juice from concentrate as I find fresh orange juice rather expensive but when recently shopping in Asda I spotted bottles of the fresh Don Simon Clementine juice on offer for just £0.50 for a 750ml bottle so brought a couple of bottles to try. This clementine juice as I stated is a fresh juice made from 100% pure squeezed Spanish clementine juice. It states on the bottle that it takes just 24 hours for the clementine's to go from tree to squeezed. Each 150ml serving amounts to one portion of your 5 a day fruit and vegetables and the juice is also rich in Vitamin C. As the juice is fresh you need to store it in the fridge as soon as you get it home and consume within 3 days of opening. I was also surprised to see that this juice is suitable for freezing and it suggests to freeze it on the day of purchase and to use within a month. I have never tried to freeze juice but if I spot this one on a good special offer again I may give it a try. The juice itself does not state on the front of the bottle whether it contains bits or is a smooth variety which I was a little surprised by. Although I do not mind either way my husband hates juice with bits and would refuse to drink it if it did contain them. It turned out that the juice is of the smooth nature, it is also quite a thick juice which I like too as some juices can be a little watery. But I would recommend giving the juice a shake each time you use it as when sat in the fridge it can separate a little. The juice is a lovely bright orange colour and smells fresh and fruity when you pour it into the glass. I had never come across Clementine juice before, I expected it to taste pretty much the same as orange juice. In fact the juice does taste very similar to orange juice but in my opinion a little bit tangier. You seem to get a fairly sweet taste first then a sharper zestier after taste. I found this very nice as it was like drinking juice you had just squeezed yourself as it tastes so natural and fresh and the zesty after taste really does wake me up first thing in the morning. Overall I have been very impressed with this juice, it is extremely fresh and has a tangy kick to it. Certainly one that will be working its way into my trolley again!

      Lovely, refreshing juice!

Just recently I have been drinking a lot of juices and these Don Simon ones have been on offer in my local Asda store (in different flavours) for 50p a bottle opposed to the usual price tag of around a pound. Miss Pink Glitter commented on one of my other juice reviews saying that if I liked that variety I would like this flavour so making a mental note of that I grabbed a couple of bottles of this the other night when I was shopping (so ta for tip off hun lol). The Packaging: The bottle I bought holds 750ml of the juice and it is plastic with a blue label all over it with a picture of Clementines on it and we are told that it is Don Simon 'Premium' Clementine '24 Hours From Tree To Squeeze!' and that it isn't made from concentrate and that each 150ml serving contains one portion of a portion of fruit or veg. Other information listed on the bottle includes ingredients and nutritonal information and contact details for the manufacturer are given. It has a blue plastic twist on/off lid to the top of it and in style it looks great and of course it is informative enough as it needs to be. The Juice itself: Open it up and you are greated with a thin, light orange coloured juice that smells distinctly of clementines. It of course is a flat juice with no bubbles within it at all and is made only from 100% squeezed Spanish clementines and this is simply a lovely, fresh tasting juice.....its that simple! Nicely but naturally sweetened, none harsh and best served chilled this is just so light and refreshing. Personally I prefer the orange variety to this but that just comes down to my personal preference. This is nice though! Try and you will love

Don Simon is a range of premium pure juices which are squeezed fresh or pressed and are made NOT from concentrate. Often cheaper brands are made 'from concentrate' which means the pure juice is diluted with water. This affects the quality and the taste. Don Simon guarantees the high standard of its quality by refusing to make its juices from concentrate but offers simple freshly squeezed juice. A 1 litre plastic bottle of this product costs around £1 a bottle. The bottle can be recyled. It has images of Clementines on the bottle and a bold simple brand label with some other information such as best by date, nutritional values etc. The juice itself is of such a high quality and is quite a nice consistency, not too watery, not too thick. It smells so fresh and juicy and exactly like Clementines, which it should do! The taste is amazing too, its not like normal pure orange juice, even if it is hand squeezed. As it is made from Clementines, it has a lovely taste which makes it special and stand out from other juices. It is very sweet and flavoursome. I love this drink. If your unsure I would recommend trying it out and you will love it. its so different and refreshing and is perfect on a morning. Such a good quality product, so different and at an amazing price. I only ever buy Don Simon now from my local ASDA and would prefer it over any other brand.
