Creamy, smooth coffee - a wonderful indulgence (Douwe Egberts Continental Gold)

Advantages: Smooth good tasting coffee

Disadvantages: Can be expensive

This is may favourite instant coffee> the only problem I have is that it is a bit more expensive than some of the stadard Nescafe or Rapport Coffee's.

However having said that it is often on offer at £4 a jar.

Lets's start with the jar - this isn't your standard screw top lid oh no! This is a push on glass lid that always reminds me of a sweet jar. These jar once finished make great storage containers - sorry that's the Blue Peter brain washing in me - as they are air tight.

The coffee granules themselves are pale brown in colour and fairly large. There is very little dust in the coffee until you get right down to the very bottom of the jar.

The coffee has a very creamy, smooth and well balanced taste with not even a hint of bitterness - as I like my coffee quite weak this coffee may not appeal to those coffee drinkers who like that very strong almost harsh taste.

The aroma is very like fresh brewed coffee - so it will make you kitchen smell nice as well

Summary: A smooth well rounded cup of coffee with no bitterness
