When it comes to coffee consumption nothing beats real coffee. I used to own a coffee machine but got rid of it a few years back as it took to much space and wasn't used enough. After missing proper coffee at home I decided to invest in a cafetiere. Initially I tried standard supermarket brand coffee but I wasn't initially impressed with this so I increased my budget and moved on to the Douwe-Egberts brand which was a real improvement in regards to the smell and the taste. Douwe Egberts are well known in the coffee business. The front of the packet shows that they have been making coffee since 1753. They are experts in blending, roasting and grinding coffee. Every now and again it makes a nice change to have a nice 'proper' cup of coffee. It also makes the house smell great. We do not have a coffee making machine and just use the simple option of using a cafetiere. They also do the same coffee for use in a coffee machine. The packets are easily distinguished by the colour of the packet. Green is for use in Cafetieres and the red packet for coffee machines. The packets come fully vacuum sealed this keeps the coffee ... I had an unexpected gift yesterday, well actually I had two gifts and it wasn't even my birthday or anything. Aren't I a lucky so-and-so! Anyway the first gift was a Delonghi coffee machine, which I shall be reviewing later on in the month, once I've tried it out a lot more and used all the features on it. Back to the coffee in question. As the machine was an unexpected gift, I didn't have any filter coffees in the house so I dashed off to the shop to get some. Being a small shop in a very small village the choice was very limited - to Douwe Egberts or Douwe Egberts! That's okay for me as I've tried this many times before in pubs ...
