Dr Pepper- ok drink, funny ads! - Dr Pepper Drink
Dr Pepper

Newest Review: ... far, but it's a shame that the aftertaste leaves me not choosing it from the shelf. Dr Pepper retails at around £1 for a 500ml bottle. O... more

Advantages: Funny adverts

Disadvantages: Tastes ok, not great, just ok

No, its not coke but it looks like it! It's a soft drink that's been around since 1885 and is distinct due to its cinnamon taste (imagine coke with a lot of cinnamon thrown in!)

I rarely drink it as I rarely drink any fizzy drinks. When I do Sprite ior 7Up are the ones I usually go for. However, it does taste good if you like a spicy twist to your drink. How people drink it in such large quantities is beyond me though.

The thing that makes Dr Pepper stand out so much for me are the tv adverts with the catchy slogan What's the Worst that Can Happen? The drink itself is ok but the ads have bumped up the star rating for me.

Lately, they've been showing the following advert: probably not accurate as I'm doing this from memory but you'll get the gist!):-

Schoolboy is waiting to see the nurse and so gets a Dr Pepper from the vending machine. He says to himself "what's the worst that can happen?"
The school nurse calls him in -"Johnson!" - and when he goes into her room he's busy opening the drink which bubbles up all over the table. The nurse tries to clean it up and in doing so a accidentally turns the tannoy on. The whole school hears the following conversation:-

"I hurt my little friend."

"Yes its swollen!"

"I got it stuck in a keyhole."

"You need a band-aid but I don't think I have one small enough". He leaves
the office and the nurse mutters:

"That boy should be careful where he puts that thing!"

The poor guy comes out of the nurse's office and comes face to face with a school full of laughing students!

He was talking about his pinky finger, by the way.

The drink itself is fairly generic ) except for the distinctive taste compared to coke and pepsi). The packaging consists of a red label with the logo across the middle.

The product is available in several sizes: 250ml, 330ml, 500ml, 1.5 litre and 2 litre.

Dr Pepper has a high calorie content and as with most fizzy drinks should be enjoyed responsibly lol. There are 103 calories and 25.3g of sugar per 250ml serving

Summary: Try it- whats the worst that can happen?

I like Dr Pepper. Prefer it to Coke but don't drink it that often.

You missed "Oh right, well take it out of your pants, Todd" hehe. I just YouTube'd it.

I think this stuff tastes foul but I'm pretty sure it's wintergreen rather than cinnamon that gives it that distinctive taste.
