Hungary is probably the country I know least well in Central and Eastern Europe, although I've been throw it numerous times and visited it in itself a couple of times. I'm not foolish enough though to dismiss its beers! With a history tied-in to Austria's, it was hardly going to avoid being a country of great beer brewing.. even if it is more well known for its wine. Dreher was established in 1798 when the family bought the Klein-Schwechat municipal beer house that was founded in 1632. Originally the beer was brewed in Budapest making use of the water in the River Danube (I wouldn't try that now!), in the mid 1800's, they moved to Kobanya and developed the ...
